Please check the 5th grade Chorus website for the links to the song.
PROPS: Remember, that you can only bring ONE prop to hold. No more than one. Also it needs to be a word that appears in the song - you CANNOT bring in a phone because it is NOT a word that appears in the Cold and Fugue song.
EXTRA PRACTICE Come see me on Fridays during your lunch and or recess and we will run through parts and have lunch together. Do not worry about remembering to bring your music as I will have extra copies for you. FRIDAY DECEMBER 1ST is the Chamber Choir Auditions. THIS FRIDAY!!!
Remember to come down to the music room so you can audition. Please prepare ONE of the following songs: America the Beautiful (starting on E) O beautiful for spacious skies, For amber waves of grain, For purple mountain majesties Above the fruited plain! America! America! God shed His grace on thee And crown thy good with brotherhood From sea to shining sea! National Anthem (starting on E) O say can you see, by the dawn's early light, What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming, Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight O'er the ramparts we watch'd were so gallantly streaming? And the rocket's red glare, the bomb bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there, O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave? These are the following instruments that are available to play for Tuimbe and the measure numbers in which they start: cabasa (m.1), conga (m.14), maracas (m.23), possibly woodblocks (m.32), tambourine (m.51), vibraslap (plays only twice in the whole song). If you need help getting the rhythm down, you can come see me or even ask Mr. Coates to show you how to clap the rhythm.
You must be able to sing your part and play the instrument as well - these will be auditioned parts. Here is the link for both parts as well as the accompaniment. Make sure you go and click the triangle next to the the "Two part".
