After today's rehearsal there are a few things to remember:
CHANGAMANO 1. Practice your parts because the song has been up on the website for a few weeks. 2. Watch your repeats. On the repeat, Unga Mana starts us off. 3. Work on measure 84 on pg.9 to the end as we have not yet gotten to that. 7 FEET OF SNOW 1. Ending - CODA: Know your words! 2. Practice the choreography 3. The rest that is between the word "outside" and "and" on measure 47 is the place where you have to breathe 4. Start memorizing I have made the recordings for Changamano. There are parts that are solos, but you may practice them if you are interested in auditioning for the solo.
PART 1 PART 2 CHAMBER AUDITIONS will be held starting the week that we come back. It would be Nov. 14th which is the Wednesday we will have rehearsal after the week of conferences. If you are interested and you are a 5th grader, please bring your lunch at 11 to the music room and we will have 30min for you to sing either America the Beautiful OR the National Anthem. 4th graders will go on Nov. 28th. COME SEE ME ON MONDAY MORNING Nov. 12th FOR A PASS! This week's assignment:
Before you go to sleep, take a moment to lie down on your back and place a book on your stomach. Breathe and think about having the book go up as you inhale and when you exhale, the book should move down. Take a few minutes to continue to breathe this way. The next step is to breathe that way when you stand up or when you're sitting down. Please take some time to practice your song as well. Please take some time to listen to these 2 songs and decide which one you would like to pick:
Bring on the Snow! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkJ2jeAKdvM Seven Feet of Snow! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdVBayKkg1o THEN VOTE HERE: https://tinyurl.com/BCWinterVote2018 Welcome back to the 2018 school year. As you know we just had our first Chorus rehearsal of the year today. Please take some time to look over the solfege (second page) symbols on the second page and the exercises on the third page and TRY to figure out the solfege symbols. It is okay if you do not know - you're here to learn some of those skills.
Within the next few days, I will be posting up the 2 songs that you are to choose from for the Winter concert. You can post on the website as a comment as to what you would like to sing. We will tally it and whichever song has the most votes will be the one that we do for the concert. You will have a second piece that I most likely will choose. Keep your eyes peeled! If you have questions, do not hesitate to ask. Remember we have our dress rehearsal tomorrow, Tuesday June 12th!
We have our day rehearsal during the 1:30-2:30 time slot and then we report to the music room at 6:30pm. We will sing Oye first and then Shades last. Our concert date is JUNE 12TH!
We are working on memorizing our songs by next rehearsal as well as the choreography. Don't forget to bring in your sunglasses to practice with as your props!!! If you need EXTRA HELP OR PRACTICE come see me on Fridays. I should be there by 12pm. AUDITIONS FOR AN INSTRUMENT WILL BE THIS FRIDAY THE 25TH. We may have to do an extra rehearsal on one of the Fridays as I will not be here next Wednesday. |
