Tomorrow on Wed, June 13th we will have our party around 12:15. I will not be here any earlier as I have a rehearsal with Monmouth Junction. Be sure to bring a regular light lunch so you have REAL FOOD. You may bring things if you would like as well, but I will be providing some chips and vanilla and chocolate ice cream with chocolate syrup and sprinkles.
Remember we have our dress rehearsal tomorrow, Tuesday June 12th!
We have our day rehearsal during the 1:30-2:30pm time slot and then we report to the music room at 6:15pm.
If you can sing Shenandoah, I will let you know who has the solos. Otherwise we will sing the song WITHOUT solos.
If you want to keep your hat, you should bring in $1. Otherwise I will collect the hats from you at the end of the performance at night.
Remember there is NO CHAMBER REHEARSAL THIS WEEK ON JUNE 1ST.
It also appears that we will have our day concert before our dress rehearsal. I really hope that you are all practicing and working on your choreography with your hats. We will have ONE rehearsal before we have our day concert. MUSIC MUST BE MEMORIZED.
If you have any questions about parts or songs, please let me know.
Hey all! We are getting so close to our concert day!! We have one Friday and one dress rehearsal left to clean everything up. Please make sure you're practicing and working hard on your pieces to get the choreography and your parts solid. Remember, if we do not sing Shenandoah correctly by next rehearsal, there will be no solos for that song.
To make the hats stronger:
1. Take the poster board that I gave you and fold it in half (make sure it's still 3 inches thick), so you fold it width wise.
2. Cut the pieces in half.
3. Position the 2 pieces equally on both sides of the hat.
4. Glue it flat against the hat with Elmer's glue (Not a glue stick please, as that will fall off).
If you have any questions, you may leave it in the comments below. Enjoy your holiday weekend!
Here's the Symphony rehearsal in which we get to hear Lizzy beatbox. This is NOT a Satvik solo - but thank you Satvik for knowing your part! Also, if you do not have words/the MELODY you should not be singing as loud.
Please make sure you practice all of your music and your choreography for the Sing (just take a random hat at home to practice in the meantime). Don't forget the gliss/slide in the middle of the song.
SHENANDOAH - we cannot have solos if you are unable to sing the non-solo parts!!! PRACTICE PLEASE!
So Ms. Chin finished the recording last night but forgot to post it :(
Here is the solo for the middle/end of the song (you will have to skip ahead to about 2'20" which is slightly before the solo starts): Shenandoah SOLO
Here is the recording from Friday. Please listen to it and see where it is that we need work. There was a high schooler who had popped in during the middle of rehearsal and she said we sound very good :)
You need to practice the snapping and clapping and memorizing your parts.
Symphony Recording: 5-4-18symphony.m4a
Also here is the complete recordings for your parts:
The solos for Shenandoah will hopefully be posted by Sunday evening. If you would like a solo, you will need to come on Friday so that way I can listen to you sing whichever one that you would like. You can audition for all as well and I can place you wherever I feel that you would sing best.
Just a reminder, we will not have Chamber tomorrow as it is the Musical!!!
GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU THAT ARE IN THE MUSICAL! Keep practicing those songs - I want to order those hats!
